Our environments today are a constant flux of information, messaging, noise and distractions. Sound and Images, be it political or commercial are all around us, we consume them without choosing to. Their intensity assaults our senses, influences our behaviour, and sometimes clouds our minds. Silence has become a luxury good only a few can afford. The Silent Room hopes to create some balance in our world, it is a space accessible to all, acoustically isolated from the outside, with just the hum of the city at its quietest hour. It aims to use silence as a form of resistance. We need more silence, to clean our thoughts, and hear ourselves.
