DESMEEM involves inviting a group of qualified multidisciplinary designers from Europe and appointing them into teams with Lebanese designers in order for them to work together and create solutions to problems facing the Arab world. Beirut Design Week 2012 was launched at the Ministry of Tourism in Hamra, with DESMEEM an international design project of 27 designers from Europe and the Middle East, who collaborated with Lebanese NGOs to create more sustainable and effective solutions to a variety of issues in Lebanon.
