Cristina Fawaz is an interdisciplinary designer interested in bringing together language, culture, communication, community and social design. She is currently in her last year of Industrial and Interaction Design (I&ID) at Syracuse University (SU) in Syracuse, New York. She joined the Beirut Design Week team in 2015 and continues this year as an Ambassador to the Latin Americas.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she identifies herself as both Puerto Rican and Lebanese. The mixture of influences in her cultural identity have encouraged her to travel to places like London, Spain, Turkey, and Lebanon to explore the social dynamics that underpin her design work.

Her work has been shown at the Smarter London Exhibition, the 360 Design Exhibition, and ICFF 2015.
